ABOUT THE ALLOCATOR PRIZES

The Allocator Prizes recognize outstanding talent, celebrate bold strategies, and connect the brightest minds shaping the future of capital allocation. From pensions to endowments, sovereign wealth funds to family offices, the awards spotlight leadership and legacy across the industry.

The 2025 ceremony takes place October 28 at the Rainbow Room in New York, with categories including Team of the Year, Leader of the Year, and Investment Operations of the Year.

Brian Pimentel, Principal/Consultant at Prime Buchholz, has been named one of three finalists for Advisor of the Year by The Allocator, a publication of With Intelligence. Winners will be announced at the 2025 Allocator Prizes dinner in October.

The Allocator Prizes are intended to celebrate standout leadership, innovation, and integrity across institutional investing. This year’s ceremony will mark the third annual awards dinner spotlighting excellence in capital allocation.

Pimentel has more than 20 years of industry experience, including the last 14 years with Prime Buchholz, an institutional investment advisor and OCIO based in Portsmouth, NH, and Boston.

“Each finalist was handpicked from a pool of nominations by our six esteemed industry judges,” said Leanna Orr, Editor and Newsletter Founder of The Allocator. “These prizes honor investment excellence, fiduciary vigor, and the unhyped heroes delivering for their institutional missions.”

One judge highlighted Pimentel’s role in delivering a high-quality advisory experience to institutional clients, noting Pimentel’s consistent impact and ability to meet the complex needs of clients.

At Prime Buchholz, Pimentel serves as co-head of the firm’s community foundation practice and is a member of the global equity asset class committee. He advises a wide range of clients with expertise in asset allocation, investment policy, and portfolio development.

Prime Buchholz advises on or manages more than $80 billion in assets for approximately 250 clients, including endowments, foundations, healthcare organizations, pension plans, and private wealth clients.

“We are thrilled to see Brian recognized on this national stage,” said Bill McCarron, President and Managing Principal of Prime Buchholz. “His deep commitment to clients, thoughtful investment guidance, and ability to deliver results that advance institutional missions reflect the very best of our firm’s values. This recognition is a testament not only to Brian’s skill but also to the collaborative spirit of the teams he helps lead at Prime Buchholz.”

The winners will be announced at the Allocator Prizes dinner on October 28, 2025, at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center, New York City.
